Back in the day, when I was polling friends on design and playing with finish ideas and colors, my buddy Neil (author, blogger, social wizard) was doing professional metal finishing and he experimented with chemical patinas for me. I quickly eliminated that because the color wasn't nearly vibrant enough.

After about 50 different finish attempts... I arrived at the MechEnamel system, and this killer red. It's our best seller. It's been called "the ultimate expression of cycling culture".

Started out as a full string of links around the neck. We found that to be a bit heavy (you can still get it that way. Just send a request in the contact form). So we created the partial spoke loop that cradles the neck and pivots in the back. Boom! Magic.
